A Proton in civilian service used as an executive transport
The CT-6 Proton is a large Pinnace used to transfer cargo and passengers between starships in orbit and the surface of a planet. It has two large hydrogen-composite engines in the rear and variable-geometry wings that swing forward for landing and takeoff and sweep back for the high-speed climb towards the edge of the atmosphere. Protons are manufactured on Minos by the Exedra-Bernoulli division of Exedra Enterprises.
Behind the Scenes
Exedra Enterprises is a fictional megacorporation dreamed up by Martin way back in sixth grade, and the Proton was the name of a light civilian aircraft they manufactured. The image comes from the Honor Harrington universe.
