An early model of pressure suit

A Pressure Suit (often abbreviated to P-suit) is an airtight, pressurized garment with attached helmet used to protect the wearer from vacuum for use in space or other hostile environments.  Technically, this term applies only to the most bare-bones, simplified type of suit which is designed for use in a vacuum.  Although almost always including an independent air supply, it lacks other life support systmes like water, "waste disposal" (toilet facilities), temperature regulation, or shielding from cosmic radiation.

A pressure suit designed specifically for space walks is an EVA suit, while the hardsuit is a far more advanced pressure suit for extended repairs or construction work in space.
