Maax

Maax was once a a forces mage in the Tech Infantry, but after leaving he founded Maax Industries which became a megacorp specializing in developing advanced technologies.

History[]

Maax was born in 2174 and joined the Tech Infantry along with his friend Richard Fox.  Richard Fox was assigned to a unit consisiting of ground pounders responsible for missions on foreign planets to fight Bugs.  Maax, on the other hand, was assigned to a military intelligence division due to his exceptional test scores although he was well-respected forces mage.

During his time in military intelligence, Maax stayed on the forefront of new technologies.  Eventually, when Richard Fox became a member of the 2nd Triumvirate, and gained control of Internal Security, Maax was his chief liuetenant.  Later after the 2nd Triumvirate was toppled, Maax retired along with some other officers and founded Maax Industries on Minos.

Maax Industries specialized in developing cutting edge technologies that were used by the Tech Infantry.  It has been suspected that Richard Fox's AI also played a role in helping Maax Industries' R&D division.  Over time the company developed into a megacorp, and it is believed that they have been developing a new means of space travel.

Behind the Scenes[]

The image and persona for this character are based upon the role of Joe Turkel who played Dr. Eldon Tyrell in the movie Blade Runner.  An evil priest played by Rip Torn in the movie, "The Beastmaster" had the name of Maax.  The name Maax was later used by player/writer Chris for a D&D character that he ran for many years and eventually became powerful wizard after numerous adventures even though the character was good.  For the creation of the wizard for the D&D character, he had the image of Rip Thorn in mind.  For the character in TI, he envisioned Joe Turkel but decided to use the name Maax because he liked it more.
